Leading pharmaceutical manufacturer, Boehringer Ingelheim have elected to improve the retail experience through the implementation of the next generation in micro space planning from Galleria.

Boehringer Ingelheim

Offering “Value through Innovation” as purveyors of prescription medication and consumer healthcare around the globe; Boehringer Ingelheim work in partnership with the world’s leading retailers to offer category management advice.

Historically, the supplier’s space planning analysis was done manually and as a result, they experienced problems which included having incorrect inventory on shelf, leading to low stocks and a potentially poor customer experience in store. Experiencing such difficulties enabled Boehringer Ingelheim to quickly uncover a business need to introduce a solution to streamline the space planning & analysis process; providing the ability to optimize inventory, assortment and aesthetics to put them in pole position with their retail partners to get the right product in the right place, at the right time and in the right quantity.

With extensive user experience of space planning processes and applications through her previous role, Nicola Brooks, Customer Marketing Manager at Boehringer Ingelheim understood the significance of the task in hand and was keen to secure a solution which could be easily implemented and produce rapid results.

“We’re delighted to begin this partnership with Galleria and extremely excited to begin using the new version of their Customer Centric Merchandising solution as we prepare for the next major review cycles in 2015” comments Nicola Brooks.

With more than 46,000 employees globally, Boehringer Ingelheim operate with a wide variety of clients, including the UK’s largest retailers and as such were searching for a space planning solution which could handle a wide variety of requirements, from advanced 3D visualization to custom analysis & reporting. It was these requirements that saw the supplier select Galleria as their solution partner and set out to deploy the next generation of merchandising.

“The decision to adopt dedicated technology further reinforces Boehringer Ingelheim’s commitment to provide the very best advice in category advice to their valued retail partners,’ said Ian Duncan-Lewis, Chief Executive Officer at Galleria. ‘We’re looking forward to further building our relationship with Boehringer Ingelheim as they move forward to this next step in their consumer-centric journey.’
