RELEX predicts that in 2018 the quality of retail planning will separate the winners from the losers

RELEX Solutions, which pioneered unified retail planning, is predicting that the quality of supply chain, space and assortment planning will make the difference between retail success and failure this year.

After a Christmas season in which discounting failed to protect many well-known North American and European retail chains from online competition and falling sales, RELEX says the competitive advantage generated by great service levels, optimized inventory and reduced waste, will be 2018’s key battlefield.

“With retail margins being as tight as they are and with Amazon and other major online retailers constantly driving up service and driving down prices, there’s no room for any inefficiency,” says Mikko Kärkkäinen, RELEX Solutions Group CEO. “Retailers need to use every tool at their disposal to squeeze every last performance advantage out of their operations or risk being swept away by the tide of competition.”

Remarkable Customer Satisfaction Levels

RELEX attributes its continuing strong growth to high levels of customer satisfaction. Since its beginnings in 2006, its expansion has been driven by peer-to-peer recommendations. Even today RELEX will offer to introduce prospective customers to its existing users so they can get an unvarnished account of the system in operation.

RELEX’s latest Net Promoter Score* of 63% is a sign of the willingness of its users to sing its praises to others. On a range from -100% to +100%, anything positive is considered good and anything over +50% outstanding. In contrast, the industry average is 28%.

In the NPS survey, RELEX customers cited the solution provider’s willingness to help to solve issues, quick response times, collaborative approach and close working relationships with its customers.

RELEX Wins Industry Awards

Further confirmation of RELEX’s growing reputation came at October’s Retail System’s Awards where it was named both Multi-Channel Technology Vendor of the Year and Tech Project of the Year, the latter for its work with customer Granngården. The judges were impressed by RELEX’s culture of close collaboration with its customers, emblematic of a work culture that has consistently resulted in fast and successful implementations and high levels of customer satisfaction.

“Just being nominated was an honor in itself, but the fact that we won is a wonderful endorsement of what we’ve accomplished with RELEX,” says Jimmy Olsen, Granngården’s Logistics Manager.

The award panel also noted RELEX’s reputation as a highly effective omni-channel solution, something that has proved very appealing to many retailers who have previously struggled to control inventory effectively across multiple channels.

Sector Analysts Value RELEX

RELEX has also established its importance in the minds of sector analysts around the globe. In 2017, RELEX made its debut in The Forrester Wave: Retail Planning, the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Retail Assortment Management Applications, MGI 360 in Supply Chain Management and the RIS News Software Leaderboard which scored it an outstanding 44/50 for customer satisfaction.
