Wyevale Garden Centres (WGC), that operates 153 garden centres across England and Wales, has enlisted RELEX, Europe’s fastest growing provider of supply chain solutions, to support growth plans through its robust supply chain solution.
The reputable garden centre retailer began reviewing supply chain providers following substantial growth, expansion and increased market position. WGC chose RELEX out of ten other solution providers, through a competitive tendering process, to address key issues ranging from forecasting to promotions and replenishment.
WGC has two key product groups: general merchandise and horticultural products, which includes short-shelf life and rationed products. Both supply chains are managed manually and are highly pressurised environments, with many supplier constraints, rules and limited availability. Working with RELEX, WGC will begin to transition towards automating and improving these processes for higher sales and increased profitability.
Dan Zinner, Trading Director at WGC comments: “With the help of RELEX we expect to see better forecasting, increased availability, reduced wastage and a more streamlined business process. Furthermore, the system will help us to better prepare for promotions and high demand periods such as Mother’s Day and Easter, ensuring we have the right product, at the right place, at the right time.”

RELEX and WGC expect to go live with a pilot in September and fully roll out the system in the New Year.
