Growing With RELEX: Inside Value Development
Dec 18, 2025 • 4 min
When you talk to people at RELEX, one theme comes up again and again: the work is interesting, the learning curve is real, and the people make the difference. That’s certainly true for Tamara Maydali, a Value Development Consultant who started as a working student and is now supporting our US team after relocating abroad.
We asked Tamara to share what her work looks like, how she’s grown, and why she thinks RELEX is a great place for someone at the start of their career.
Finding a Path Through Curiosity
Tamara’s journey began during her master’s studies, when she was searching for a working student role in the area of time series analysis and machine learning. That’s when she came across RELEX.
“What made me say yes was the impression that RELEX had a very open and modern work culture,” she shares. “And the fact that the position allowed fully remote work was a significant plus.”
She joined as a working student in Solution Consulting, supporting customers already in continuous service. As RELEX formed a new Value Development team in the CEMEA region, her team lead encouraged her to consider the role. She took the opportunity.
Fast-forward to today: Tamara is part of the US Value Development team, having relocated at the start of 2025. It was a big transition, but one RELEX supported every step of the way.
What a Day Looks Like in Value Development
“I usually start my day by heading into the office,” Tamara says. “Every morning, we have a catch-up with the project team to align on status and next tasks.”
Her days mix customer meetings, internal discussions, and focused work. And like any RELEXian, she makes time for lunch and a few good coffee chats.
The technical side still excites her the most.
“With my mathematics background, I find it fascinating how much math and complexity is involved in processes that seem very simple to the end user,” she explains. “It’s exciting to see how the software continues to evolve.”
Building Confidence Through Real Responsibility
When it comes to challenges at work, one recent stands out: preparing and delivering a full training series for a customer.
Creating highly tailored materials took time, and presenting to customers meant being ready for anything. But this challenge also highlighted her growth.
“When I think back to how nervous I used to be in customer meetings, it’s impressive to see how much I’ve developed,” Tamara says. “I’m much more confident now and approach situations like this calmly.”
Impact shows up in many forms – improved KPIs, better customer processes, or a simple “thank you” that lands at just the right moment.
Collaboration That Actually Feels Like Collaboration
For Tamara, good teamwork means moving toward a shared goal with trust and openness.
“In challenging situations, the focus isn’t on finding someone to blame, but on supporting one another,” she mentions. Asking questions is encouraged. Wins are acknowledged. Help flows both ways.
And the fun shouldn’t be underestimated: team lunches, after-work events, or laughing in meetings when someone says something unexpectedly funny.
Her move to the US also made Colleague is a friend feel very real.
“I moved to a new country without knowing anyone. I’m extremely grateful that I’ve been able to find real friends among my colleagues.”
Her three words to describe RELEX culture: Collaborative, Fun, and Smart.
Growing With Support
Whether it was flexibility during her thesis, the chance to join a new team, or navigating an international relocation, Tamara has felt consistently supported.
“There are regular check-ins where goals are defined and we discuss what kind of support is needed to achieve them,” she reflects.
What helps people thrive here?
“Be curious and be bold,” she encourages. “If you enjoy a combination of technical work and more communicative tasks, RELEX is a great place to be.”
A standout learning moment came during a customer visit in South Africa, where she could see her work in action and understand the business behind the software.
“It was incredibly exciting to see the real impact of my work and how different buying behaviors can be across countries.”
Why RELEX Is a Strong Place to Start Your Career
From Tamara’s perspective, RELEX gives graduates space to learn, flexibility to explore different areas, and responsibilities that grow over time.
“If you discover that another field interests you more, there’s a lot of support to make an internal transition,” she explains.
Her advice to anyone thinking about applying to the Graduate Program?
“Just go for it. The transition from university to the professional world can feel intimidating, but I’m grateful I was able to take that step with RELEX.”
And if she had to sum up what it means to Be RELEX?
“Being RELEX is about tackling exciting problems, learning constantly, and doing it all with awesome colleagues by your side.”
