Featuring Nina Windall, Solution Consultant
When you meet Nina Windall, one thing becomes clear: she loves a good challenge. Whether she’s diving into machine learning topics, troubleshooting configurations, or shaping how customers will use True Inventory, Nina brings curiosity, clarity, and a bit of humor to everything she does.
We sat down with her to learn how she found her way to RELEX, what her current rotation looks like, and why she believes this is a great place to start a career.
Finding a Career That Mixes People, Problem-Solving, and Math
Nina joined RELEX right after graduating, thanks to a message from a recruiter. With a maths degree and a love for problem-solving, the role caught her attention even though she had no background in supply chain or software.
“I also really liked the ‘Colleague is a friend’ value, and it seemed like they took it seriously,” she recalls. “I was right – they do!”
She began as a Solution Analyst and later moved into a Solution Consultant role, spending time configuring the software for customers and learning how forecasts work behind the scenes. Eventually, she joined the Supply Chain Excellence rotation program, giving her the chance to work across global projects and specialize in True Inventory, one of RELEX’s newest product areas.
A Day in the Life: True Inventory, ML Initiatives, and Helping Teams Succeed
Nina’s current rotation keeps her days varied.
She acts as an expert in True Inventory while supporting consultants who work with machine learning features. Requests from ongoing projects take priority – anything from troubleshooting configuration to reviewing training materials or explaining how a new functionality works. When the queue is quieter, she focuses on internal initiatives. One recent example: publishing a full set of training materials for customers migrating from the old forecasting setup to the new one.
Her work is a blend of quick problem-solving and long-term development, and she enjoys the mix.
Tackling the Hard Problems (And Enjoying Them)
One of the biggest challenges Nina has taken on lately is defining how RELEX can measure accuracy and value for True Inventory functionalities.
“It’s allowed me to work with both engineering and business stakeholders to make sure the metrics are mathematically sound and customer friendly,” she explains. She has also partnered with customers who had unique requirements, iterating through solutions and testing them thoroughly.
As a Solution Consultant, she spends a lot of time interacting directly with super-users – the people who rely on the software daily. Helping them understand how powerful the tools can be is one of the most rewarding parts of her work.
Collaboration Across Teams, Time Zones, and Product Areas
Because True Inventory is new, Nina’s role naturally puts her at the center of collaboration.
She partners closely with implementation teams across the world to gather feedback, then shares those insights with engineering to help shape upcoming developments. She has also worked with pre-sales analytics on an x-ray process and recently began collaborating with the learning and development team to help train more consultants as adoption grows.
For her, RELEX’s values help keep things grounded.
“Creating an open, friendly atmosphere where feedback and questions are welcome makes everything easier,” Nina says. A few jokes here and there? Also helpful. They make it easier for teams to discuss what they’re struggling with and what solutions might work best.
She also emphasized that being a friend to colleagues and customers doesn’t mean saying yes to everything. “Rather than immediately acting on all requests, I try to truly understand the reasoning behind them and guide consultants and customers to a friendlier solution.”
Her three words for RELEX culture: Open, dynamic, curious.
Always Learning, Always Moving Forward
Growth at RELEX happens continuously. While keeping the formal review cycles and a clear competency framework, Nina appreciates the ongoing conversations that happen in between.
Her team lead regularly checks in to understand where she wants to grow and works to match those goals with project opportunities. That helps her avoid getting “stuck” in a narrow area simply because of timing or project assignment.
RELEX also offers learning opportunities ranging from consultancy training to machine learning boot camps and access to LinkedIn Learning.
The experience that shaped her most came from a three-month rotation in the Atlanta office.
“I was surprised to see how different the relationships are between the customer team and our team there,” Nina says. The insights from that time now help her better navigate global roles and understand project dynamics in different regions.
Why Graduates Thrive Here
When asked what makes RELEX exciting for people starting their careers, Nina doesn’t hesitate: support and trust.
“Everyone at RELEX is so supportive and friendly, which makes it easier to explore different tasks and responsibilities to figure out what you enjoy,” she explains. Colleagues also fully encourage future growth opportunities – even if it means moving to a different team.
Her advice for graduates considering applying?
“Be yourself. Since ‘Colleague is a friend,’ we’re looking for people who will be not just our colleagues, but hopefully our friends too.”
And her one-sentence definition of Be RELEX?
“Creating smart solutions and building firm relationships.”
