In response to our fast growth and market expansion, we are looking for a People Operations Manager to join our APAC team, ideally based in Japan. In this role, you’ll take ownership of People Operations in Japan and Thailand while supporting the broader APAC region, including Australia, Singapore, and other markets.
You’ll ensure that our People processes are compliant, efficient, and people-focused, while acting as a trusted local partner to employees and leaders. You’ll also play a key role in shaping and building our People Operations capabilities in newly established entities, starting with Japan.
You’ll be part of our global People Operations team of 15+ professionals across Europe and APAC, working closely with colleagues in the region and the wider People team. This role reports to the Team Lead, People Operations APAC & Global Mobility.

- Act as the main People Operations contact for Japan and Thailand and provide regional support across APAC.
- Manage employee lifecycle processes, from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring an excellent and compliant employee experience.
- Partner with managers at all levels and across countries to provide guidance on people-related matters, employee relations, and local employment practices in your region.
- Coordinate with external payroll and People vendors, including EOR partners, to ensure accurate and compliant operations.
- Support entity setup, benefits administration, and People documentation for new and growing markets.
- Collaborate closely with the global People Operations and HRIS teams to improve processes and systems.
- Contribute to regional and global People Operations initiatives and share best practices across teams.
- Provide partnership and mentoring to the Australia-based Senior People Operations Specialist.
What you’ll bring to the table

- Proven experience in People Operations within Japan, ideally with exposure to other APAC markets.
- Strong understanding of local employment law and People Operations practices.
- Hands-on experience managing payroll, benefits, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Experience working with international teams and coordinating across multiple countries or vendors.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills; comfortable advising and partnering with managers of all levels.
- Organized, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset
- Comfortable with working independently; while we have a growing local employee base, your direct manager is located in Finland and your closest people colleague sits in Australia.
- Fluency in Japanese and English (written and spoken).
