We are looking for an experienced, full-time Data Scientist to join the F&R Engineering department. You’ll join our Core Replenishment team, which will help you succeed in your new role. This team is focused on developing our replenishment solutions, building new features in this domain, and supporting other related software projects.
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop and deploy solutions to solve real-world replenishment challenges. We expect you to select and use the best tools for the job, but our current products are built using machine learning, optimization and deep learning. And in the end, everything is just mathematics.
- Work with large datasets and simulations to create scalable and trustworthy solutions that deliver measurable business value.
- Collaborate with customers and other RELEX teams to identify opportunities and shape the R&D roadmap.
- Communicate results and complex technical concepts effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- 1-3 years of experience in applied data science, from ideation to production deployment and operations
- Deep understanding of stochastic systems
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business challenges into solutions that work in real life in a hyper-large environment with extremely high SLA requirements
- Proficiency in Python, Azure, Snowflake
- Proven track record of continuous learning and growth
- Strong creative and independent thinking, questioning status quo
- Excellent communication, business understanding, and teamwork skills.
- T-Shaped competency profile: generalist in many areas, but also deep understanding in some relevant areas
- Fluency in English
What we consider as a bonus:
- Experience in retail or consumer packaged goods industries
- Proficiency in Java
- Experience in large scale decision making under uncertainty
- Experience in approximate dynamic programming
