In response to our fast growth and market expansion, we are looking for a Backend Engineer (.NET). Our team is building a mobile app that enables retail store employees to manage orders, check inventory, and handle key store operations—serving thousands of users with business-critical features. This greenfield project was launched in early 2025 and is now live in production.

- Work with a collaborative, distributed full-stack team (Portugal, UK, Finland, US) to build .NET backend services and APIs for our React Native mobile app
- Support the full lifecycle – from specifications to production operations (we don’t have separate DevOps or testing team, so we own what we deploy)
- Contribute to architectural decisions, testing infrastructure (end-to-end testing, CI/CD), and mentoring others as we scale together
What you’ll bring to the table

- Experience in .NET backend development – building reliable services that handle large datasets, integrations (Kafka, batch processing), and multi-tenant architectures
- Ability to design performant APIs for mobile applications, work with SQL databases, and deploy to cloud production environments (we use Azure, Kubernetes, and Terraform)
- Skills in test automation, maintaining documentation for compliance requirements (SOC2)
- Willingness to learn and teach – you’re comfortable saying “I don’t know” and helping others grow
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders across time zones
- Comfortable with flexible working hours, including occasional evenings when collaborating across time zones
- Willingness to travel twice a year to team meetings and occasionally on customer visits
- Comfortable with using AI in your everyday work and developing the use of AI tools as a larger organizational strategy
- Fluent in written and spoken English
