The Head of Competitive Intelligence will lead Relex’s strategic market intelligence efforts, transforming competitor and market insights into actionable strategies that drive sustainable competitive advantage. This role serves as a key strategic partner to executive leadership, directly influencing product development, go-to-market strategy, and long-term business planning within the retail and manufacturing supply chain software sector. As Relex continues to scale globally, this role will be instrumental in shaping how we anticipate market shifts and outmaneuver competitors.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
- Design and execute a comprehensive competitive intelligence program that delivers timely, actionable insights to C-suite and key business stakeholders
- Partner with executive leadership to integrate competitive insights into strategic planning, product roadmaps, and business development initiatives
- Present competitive analysis and strategic recommendations to various levels of audience and lead cross-functional strategic sessions
- Support M&A and partnership evaluations with competitive context and market sizing
Intelligence & Analysis
- Lead deep-dive research and analysis, with support from Product Marketing, of competitor strategies, product positioning, pricing models, partnerships, and market movements
- Monitor and analyze emerging industry trends, disruptive technologies, and market dynamics that could impact Relex’s competitive position
- Develop predictive intelligence capabilities to anticipate competitor moves and market shifts
- Leverage both primary and secondary research methodologies to validate hypotheses and uncover white space opportunities
Enablement & Communication
- Create and maintain high-impact deliverables including competitive battlecards, win/loss analysis, market landscape reports, and executive briefings
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to provide real-time competitive support and objection handling strategies
- Work with product marketing, corporate strategy, marketing and product teams to inform positioning, messaging, and feature prioritization based on competitive insights
- Partner with enablement to embed competitive insights into onboarding and continuous learning programs
Program Development
- Build and scale a world-class competitive intelligence function, establishing best practices, processes, and modern CI methodologies
- Manage competitive intelligence tools and platforms to maximize insight generation and knowledge sharing
- Cultivate competitive intelligence mindset across the organization while fostering a culture of strategic thinking and market awareness
- Define KPIs to measure the impact of CI on win rates, deal velocity, and strategic decision-making
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, supply chain management, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, strategic analysis, market research and product management roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity
- Demonstrated expertise in the supply chain technology sector or adjacent enterprise software markets
- Proven track record of influencing C-suite decision-making through strategic insights and analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree in business, supply chain management, or data analytics
- Experience in management consulting or strategy roles at technology companies
- Background in product marketing or product management within enterprise software
- Track record of successful competitive positioning in highly competitive markets
- Experience with revenue enablement platforms and sales methodology development
