The role:
AI is changing how marketing teams operate, and this role is at the centre of that shift at RELEX.
As our Marketing AI & Automation Specialist, your primary mission is to find, test, and embed AI-driven ways of working that make our marketing team faster, smarter, and more effective. You’ll bring a hands-on approach to applying AI tools across lead scoring, personalisation, campaign setup, and reporting, turning experimentation into repeatable operational practice. Automation is the foundation you’ll build on: a solid grounding in how our martech stack, HubSpot, and workflow tools like n8n connect and operate gives you the platform to layer genuinely intelligent processes on top.
 
This isn’t a role where you wait to be told what to explore. You’ll be expected to bring ideas, test them, and scale what works. You’ll collaborate closely across marketing and sales operations to put AI to work in the places it matters most.
Key responsibilities: 
 
AI Implementation & Workflow Innovation:
  • Identify and evaluate AI tools and techniques that can be embedded into marketing workflows, from campaign setup and content operations to lead management and reporting.
  • Design and build AI-powered automations using n8n and other workflow tools, reducing time spent on manual campaign setup and operational tasks.
  • Develop AI-driven approaches to lead scoring and contact personalisation, working with HubSpot data to help the team engage the right people at the right time.
  • Implement AI-assisted monitoring and anomaly detection across marketing performance data, helping the team spot issues and opportunities faster.
  • Work alongside the Senior Marketing Innovation Specialist to translate AI experiments into reliable, scalable operational processes.
  • Track, document, and communicate the impact of AI and automation initiatives, building the internal case for continued investment.

Marketing Automation & Campaign Operations:

  • Administer and maintain HubSpot, including contact management, list segmentation, email workflows, nurture sequences, and campaign assets.
  • Support the setup and QA of marketing automation programmes, applying AI tooling where it can reduce manual effort in the build process.
  • Work with our Marketing Data Coordinator to ensure data hygiene within HubSpot, proactively identifying and resolving duplicates, gaps, and inconsistencies.
  • Support marketing colleagues with HubSpot queries and day-to-day training needs.
Tech Stack & Integration Management:
  • Own the day-to-day management of RELEX’s marketing technology stack, maintaining a clear view of all tools, and usage.
  • Ensure integrations between martech platforms are functioning correctly, raising and resolving issues promptly.
  • Work with sales operations to maintain accurate HubSpot–Salesforce field mappings and troubleshoot sync issues.
  • Evaluate new AI-enabled martech tools as part of stack reviews, assessing their potential to improve how the team operates.
  • Document system configurations, AI workflows, and automation processes to support team knowledge and continuity.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • 3–6 years of experience in a marketing operations, CRM, or marketing automation role.
  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot and Salesforce; HubSpot certifications are a plus.
  • Practical experience with workflow automation tools such as n8n, Make, or Zapier – and a strong interest in applying these in AI-driven contexts.
  • A genuine, demonstrable interest in AI – you’re already experimenting with LLM tools, AI-assisted workflows, or automation techniques in your current or previous roles.
  • Comfortable working with marketing data and performance metrics; experience applying AI or automation to reporting workflows is a plus.
  • Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail and a methodical approach to process and documentation.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with stakeholders across marketing and sales.
  • Familiarity with the B2B SaaS or enterprise software space is advantageous.

  • Campaign setup and operational processes are progressively automated, reducing the manual lift for the broader marketing team.
  • Lead scoring and personalisation are informed by AI, improving the quality of engagement across our programmes.
  • The marketing tech stack is well-maintained, well-documented, and evolving in line with the team’s AI ambitions.
