The role
In response to our continued growth, we are now looking for a Merchandising Consultant to join our Unified Retail team in Scandinavia.
In this role, you will help retailers design, configure, and implement RELEX merchandising solutions across areas such as Space, Assortment, Pricing, and Promotions. Working at the intersection of business and technology, you’ll translate real-world retail challenges into scalable system solutions — turning data into decisions and software into measurable customer value.
As a trusted advisor to our customers, you’ll guide them through business process design, system configuration, training, and value realization. You’ll collaborate closely with fellow consultants, project managers, technical experts, and product teams — all united by the goal of delivering better retail experiences powered by smarter planning.
What we need you to do and be
- Lead or participate in end-to-end RELEX merchandising implementation projects within Space, Assortment, Pricing, and Promotions.
- Facilitate customer workshops to understand business processes, define use cases, and translate requirements into solution designs.
- Configure RELEX tools to meet customer-specific needs, aligned with best practices and scalable processes.
- Perform data analysis, KPI validation, and business process mapping to ensure solutions deliver clear and measurable value.
- Train customer teams and support knowledge transfer to enable strong solution adoption and long-term success.
- Collaborate with project managers, technical teams, and other consultants to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
- Support sales activities when needed through solution positioning, benefit analysis, and customer demos.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the Unified Retail team.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in retail merchandising, category management, space planning, pricing, promotions, or consulting within grocery, FMCG, or specialty retail environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex data into practical recommendations.
- Interest in — or experience with — software implementations, business process design, and solution configuration.
- Basic to advanced SQL skills or hands-on data analysis experience used to validate data, support configuration, or evaluate pricing and promotion logic are considered highly valuable.
- Ability to understand both business needs and system capabilities and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
- Collaborative working style and customer-focused mindset.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Danish, Swedish, or Norwegian is a clear plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally within Scandinavia and to RELEX offices or customer sites as needed.
- Hands-on experience with RELEX software or other advanced merchandising or space-planning tools.
- Proven work on enterprise software implementations or retail transformation projects.
- Background in Category Management, Space Planning, Pricing, or Promotion Planning.
- Strong SQL or data analysis skills used in merchandising or retail systems configuration and validation.
- A curious, proactive mindset with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
We’ll be reviewing applications on a rolling basis and we encourage early submissions. The final date for applications is 5 January 2026, but we recommend applying as soon as you can to ensure full consideration.
