Our Technology Team:
Our Technology team enjoy a challenge. They’re hungry to learn, and don’t hesitate to ask what, why, and how. They get to work with our unique, in-house database engine to create high-quality scalable code (just imagine, thousands of stores, millions of products, and billions of rows of raw data!) Their expertise positively impacts the environment and business processes around the world; alongside international colleagues, they drive change and develop solutions that become our pioneering end product. From functional programming, machine learning and interesting algorithms, to building big data pipelines, they’re behind it all. They can work in a flexible way, remote or in-office – after all, they contribute to all our achievements, so we reward them with genuine work-life balance and access to every opportunity.
We’re now looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer to join our growing Identity team in the Shared Services department. This is a newly formed team with a mission to build robust monitoring and alerting tools (APIs, status pages, etc.) that power our platform. You’ll play a central role in shaping how end-to-end testing is done across distributed systems. This is a challenge with high impact on our product quality worldwide.
Why join us?
- Impact from day one: You’ll be setting the foundations for end-to-end test automation in a brand-new team, working on distributed systems used by global retailers.
- Growth & challenge: This role offers complex problems (think tokens, authentication flows, large-scale data pipelines) and a chance to break things before our customers do.
- Collaboration & autonomy: You’ll work closely with developers, QA peers, and product owners in an agile setup, while owning your backlog and test strategy.
- Flexibility that fits your life: Hybrid or remote working, strong wellbeing benefits, and support for work-life balance in both Finland and Portugal.
Join us as a Senior Test Automation Engineer, and this is some of what you’ll be doing:
- Design, build, and maintain automated test scripts with clear, maintainable reporting.
- Lead end-to-end testing across multiple systems, ensuring smooth user journeys and integration points.
- Embed automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for fast, continuous feedback.
- Define acceptance criteria and contribute to backlog refinement together with developers and product owners.
- Carry out exploratory testing to spot hidden issues before customers do.
- Own and track bugs, ensuring issues are resolved and learnings shared.
- Actively participate in our shared services virtual testing team to align tools, best practices, and resources across departments.
- Stay up to date with emerging tools and methodologies to keep RELEX testing ahead of the curve.
We’re looking for:
- Strong experience in test automation.
- Hands-on expertise with frameworks like Robot Framework, Cypress, Playwright, or Puppeteer.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Skilled in exploratory testing with a “break-things” mindset.
- Basic understanding of authentication and authorization protocols (e.g. OAuth 2, tokens).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and communication in English.
- Ability to work independently as well as in agile teams.
What we see as an advantage:
- Experience with cloud and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Background in Identity and Access Management (IAM) testing.
- Experience testing user interfaces.
- Knowledge of performance/load testing.
- Familiarity with agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
