Our Technology Team

We are now looking for a full-time Engineering Manager to join our REST API team.
The REST API team is building a mission-critical RELEX REST API, based on Go, as the next-generation integration point between our customers and RELEX applications. Our SLAs are strict, data amounts massive, and we must guarantee data validity and timely delivery.
Our services are hosted in public cloud on top of Kubernetes, but we are delivering data to various downstream applications in hybrid cloud infrastructure via Apache Kafka. To enable fast delivery and repeatability the team is maintaining infrastructure using Terraform principles and automating build and deployment pipelines in GitLab.
What you’ll be doing:
- Team Leadership & Management: Accountable for the team’s results and success, ensuring a safe, diverse, and collaborative work environment. Provide line management, support career growth, and take care of recruitment.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the Product Architect, Engineering Director and Product Manager to align on customer needs, backlog refinement, and prioritization. Represent the team within the wider organization and maintain open communication channels.
- Team Enablement: Foster effective teamwork by ensuring clear internal communication, addressing dependencies, and facilitating problem-solving. Create realistic and focused plans and break down outcomes and epics into workable tasks together with the team.
- Roadmap & Backlog Planning: Drive and maintain the team’s backlog with support from key stakeholders. Make sure that technical improvements are incorporate into the product roadmap.
- Dependency Management: Coordinate with other teams to manage dependencies and keep external parties informed of any surprises in the team’s backlog.
- Service Management: Together with Service Delivery Manager ensure the maturity of the service, including information security, service description, documentation and release processes.
We are looking for:
- Experience (+3 years) in leading and managing engineering teams, and passion for becoming a better leader.
- Technical background, for example, over 5 years of software development or similar experience.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive, self-organized approach to work.
- Strong drive to support and coach others in self-development.
- Love to improve (Agile) practices and strengthen a healthy work culture.
- Excellent communication skills to represent the team, capable of motivating and inspiring them, fostering collaboration with cross-functional teams and with various stakeholders.
- Fluent communication skills in English.
What we consider as an advantage:
- Experience in backlog management and roadmap planning.
- Experience of REST API, Kafka, Kubernetes or Azure.
- Experience of SAP, MS Dynamics 365 or any other ERP system
- Knowledge of DevOps and Infrastructure-as-a-Code.
