Supermercados Bravo Boosts Availability and Inventory Efficiency with RELEX
Supermercados Bravo is the leading grocery retailer in the Dominican Republic, known for offering high-quality private label products and ultra-fresh produce at competitive prices. With plans to double its store footprint in five years, the company recognized the need for stronger forecasting accuracy and more efficient replenishment to support rapid growth and reduce costs while maintaining strong customer satisfaction.
Before implementing RELEX, Bravo relied on spreadsheets to manage replenishment across its stores, online channels, and distribution network. Their teams faced increasing operational demands as the business grew, and spreadsheet-based processes made it harder to manage inventory consistently at scale.
To sustain growth and improve operational efficiency and availability, Bravo launched a competitive search for a solution able to unify planning processes and support their long-term business objectives.
Reshaping Supply Chain Planning
Bravo selected RELEX in 2023 after determining that the platform’s advanced forecasting capabilities would best support their goals of improving accuracy, streamlining replenishment, and optimizing inventory across stores and distribution centers (DCs). The RELEX unified planning approach provided the scalability and flexibility needed to manage Bravo’s integrated store-DC network and growing assortment.
“We chose RELEX because their forecasting accuracy, flexibility, and ability to support both stores and DCs aligned directly with our goals. Their technology gave us confidence that we could improve availability while reducing the manual work our teams were struggling with,” said Mario Collado, VP Planning, Supermercados Bravo.
By replacing spreadsheets with RELEX’s unified planning capabilities, Bravo gained more accurate forecasts, automated store and DC replenishment, and clearer visibility across its entire network. This shift gave teams better visibility across stores, online channels, and DC operations, reducing manual work and helping planners focus on the areas that matter most.
This approach lets Bravo coordinate decisions across stores, online channels, and DCs using the same data and planning logic.
As the team works toward the completion of its space and assortment implementation, Bravo is moving toward a fully integrated planning environment that supports faster, more accurate decisions across the business.
Higher Availability, Leaner Inventory, Better Customer Experience
Since implementing RELEX, Supermercados Bravo has seen meaningful, day‑to‑day improvements across its operation. With more accurate forecasts and automated replenishment, stores now receive the right quantities at the right time, which has reduced excess inventory and freed up working capital. Inventory days in stores dropped by 27.7%, giving teams more room to focus on sales and service instead of managing overstocks.
Availability at DCs improved by 22.93%, allowing Bravo to supply stores more consistently and stabilize the flow of goods across the network. This strengthened supply chain performance is reflected in the stores themselves, where on‑shelf availability rose by 7.4%. Shoppers can now find what they need more reliably, and Bravo’s teams spend less time resolving gaps and more time supporting customers.
These results directly support Bravo’s core goals: better product availability, lower costs, and improved customer satisfaction. Teams can now focus on key exceptions instead of time-consuming manual tasks, and fresh categories have benefited from more accurate ordering despite supplier complexity.
“With RELEX, we’re seeing real improvements in how our business runs each day. Our shelves are stocked when customers need us, and our teams can finally focus on serving them rather than managing manual work. This is the kind of progress that truly supports our growth,” said Collado.
With solid results already achieved, Supermercados Bravo is well positioned to continue its growth journey with RELEX. The upcoming completion of its space and assortment capabilities will further unify planning across the business, supporting smarter decisions, improved efficiency, and continued progress toward its nationwide expansion goals.
