We’re looking for a passionate and talented developer to become a part of the Backend Team. Our team plays a pivotal role in shaping the user experience by being responsible for the APIs that fuel our web application. Among our exciting projects is the development of the new GraphQL API, written in Java, that powers new UI features. We also continue to maintain and improve our existing REST API, built on JRuby on Rails. Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with Ruby. We place a higher value on a robust background in software development and an eagerness to embrace new technological challenges. Our seasoned team members are more than equipped to provide the mentoring you’ll need to get up to speed.
Join us as a Backend Software Developer, and this is some of what you’ll be doing:
- Writing code and automated tests
- Doing code reviews, writing documentation, refactoring, bug fixes, improving code quality
- Participating in planning new features and solutions to identified issues
- Participating in and improving agile team practices.
- Collaborating within the team and with other internal teams
We’re looking for:
- A solid background in professional software development
- Proven track record in Java development
- Proficiency in Ruby is a plus, but eagerness to learn is key
- Appreciation towards clean and maintainable code and reliable software
- Interest in developing oneself and sharing knowledge with others
- Efficiency in verbal and written communication in English
What we consider as an advantage:
- Knowledge of GraphQL
- Knowledge of web application security
- Enthusiasm towards improving backend code performance
