Perstorp AB
Perstorp AB is a Swedish specialty-chemicals company whose innovations have been quietly improving everyday life for more than 140 years. Founded in 1881 by entrepreneur Wilhelm Wendt in the village of Perstorp, Skåne, the business began by turning local beechwood into acetic acid and wood alcohol before expanding into early plastics and resins that helped power Sweden’s first wave of industrialisation.
From those modest roots the company has grown into a global leader in high-function polyols, renewable plasticisers, engineered fluids and animal-nutrition additives, operating seven production sites and three R&D centres across Europe, North America and Asia. A new chapter opened in October 2022 when Perstorp became part of PETRONAS Chemicals Group (PCG), giving the business the scale and resources to accelerate its sustainability roadmap while extending PCG’s portfolio of high-value specialties.
