Modern slavery statement

This statement is made in accordance with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 of the United Kingdom and constitutes Retail Logistics Excellence – RELEX Oy (RELEX)’s Modern slavery statement for the fiscal year, which ended on December 31, 2022.

At RELEX, we are committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking will not be tolerated within our business or supply chain. We also expect that all our business partners and suppliers act in a manner that is consistent with our principles and adhere to ethical business conduct.

Our business and organisation structure

Founded in 2005, RELEX is a market-leading supply chain & retail planning platform provider headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. At the end of 2022, RELEX had over 1600 full-time equivalent employees with offices in several different countries across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific. Our practices are governed both at a global and local level.

In the United Kingdom, RELEX has two legal entities – RELEX Limited (Registered number GB-137247217) and RELEX Solutions UK Limited (Registered number 03522094). RELEX’s business in the United Kingdom includes sales from parent company RELEX Oy.

Our policies in relation to slavery and human trafficking

We are committed to ensuring no modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business, including employment practices and supply chains.  RELEX has a Code of Conduct and Business Ethics that promotes honest and ethical conduct and respect for human rights. Each employee of RELEX must complete legal and ethical compliance training and pass an assessment to demonstrate their awareness. Everyone is encouraged to voice their concerns over any misconduct they suspect through RELEX’s whistleblowing channels.

RELEX Supplier Code of Conduct, approved by the RELEX Board of Directors, outlines our expectations for suppliers and partners concerning human rights, reflecting our zero-tolerance to modern slavery and any kind of child labour and exploitation of children and youth. The Supplier Code of Conduct includes principles on employment rights, hiring, health and safety, work environments, forced and child labour and equal opportunities. To date, we have experienced no breaches of the RELEX Supplier Code of Conduct related to modern slavery and human trafficking.

Our supply chain

RELEX’s supply chain mainly consists of suppliers and partners typical for software companies where the risks for human trafficking and modern slavery are lower than in many other industries. However, RELEX is committed to decreasing and managing the risks, even if they are smaller. We adhere to continuous improvement and development of internal compliance processes, including identifying and assessing potential risk areas in our supply chains and mitigating the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains.

RELEX manages the risks of human rights violations, among others, by implementing a due diligence program on its suppliers and partners. The program is continuously reviewed and developed when relevant development areas are recognized. RELEX makes sure its employees are hired in compliance with applicable local laws.
