Cirúrgica Fernandes Selects RELEX Solutions to Modernize Supply Chain Planning

Brazilian wholesale distributor of medical, hospital, and surgical materials will deploy RELEX forecasting and replenishment capabilities to improve agility, reduce errors, and improve customer service

Cirúrgica Fernandes, a wholesale company specializing in medical, hospital, and surgical materials, has selected RELEX Solutions to implement advanced forecasting and replenishment capabilities across its operations. The project will be delivered in partnership with Demandtex, who will provide local implementation expertise adapted to the Brazilian market.

Founded more than 70 years ago, Cirúrgica Fernandes imports a wide range of health sector products, working closely with international partners and prioritizing quality and technology. The company manages 6,000 SKUs through its distribution center and has historically relied on spreadsheets to manage purchasing and inventory decisions. The spreadsheet-based process made it difficult to balance inventory, resulting in availability challenges for critical products and overstock of slower-moving items.

By adopting RELEX, Cirúrgica Fernandes will automate and streamline distribution center replenishment, event and promotional planning, purchasing optimization, and seasonal planning. The RELEX AI-driven platform will give their team more precise forecasts and an automated decision-making framework, enabling faster, more accurate responses to customer needs while reducing waste and unnecessary costs.

“We chose RELEX because we needed a platform that could replace error-prone manual processes with an intelligent, automated system,” said Pedro Fernandes, Director at Cirúrgica Fernandes. “With RELEX, we will be able to make faster, more assertive decisions that ensure our customers continue to receive the right products with agility and quality.”

“This project will help Cirúrgica Fernandes move from manual planning to a fully automated, data-driven process,” said Carlos Victoria, Senior Vice President for the Americas at RELEX Solutions. “With our AI-powered forecasting and replenishment solution, they’ll gain greater accuracy and visibility into demand and inventory, and can lower unnecessary costs, prevent stockouts of critical medical supplies, and ensure a reliable flow of products to their customers.”
