The Catalan retailer strengthens its fresh supply chain with new forecasting and automated replenishment capabilities to continue improving availability, reducing waste, and optimizing operational efficiency

CONDIS Supermercats, a regional supermarket chain primarily operating in Catalonia, has selected RELEX Solutions to further advance the planning of its fresh products supply chain. CONDIS Supermercats will incorporate RELEX’s advanced forecasting and replenishment capabilities with the aim of reinforcing the availability of perishable products, reducing waste, and improving operational efficiency across its entire store network.

Founded in Barcelona and with around 170 company-owned supermarkets, CONDIS Supermercats is recognized for its strong commitment to fresh products and proximity formats. They historically developed solid local processes to manage sensitive, high turnover categories. However, increasing market complexity and shelf-life requirements make it necessary to rely on more scalable and automated technological solutions. The collaboration with RELEX will enable Condis to accelerate this evolution and equip its teams with tools that support agile and consistent decision-making.

The RELEX platform enables more accurate demand forecasting and automated replenishment decisions, helping retailers balance product availability with waste reduction. For CONDIS, this translates into even tighter control of fresh inventory, improved stock rotation, and stronger alignment between instore demand and supply from the distribution center.

The project will cover CONDIS’s fresh assortment, which includes approximately 700 SKUs supplied from a single distribution center. By using machine learning to account for local demand patterns, seasonality, and short shelf lives, RELEX will support the company in its daily ordering decisions, strengthening freshness without generating overstock, and ensuring operational efficiency and superior quality for its customers.

“Fresh products are a strategic pillar for Condis, and their management requires precision and agility,” said Víctor Escanciano, Logistics and IT Director at CONDIS Supermercats. “We have experienced teams and well-established processes, and the incorporation of RELEX will allow us to take the next step in our evolution, reinforcing availability and facilitating daily work in our stores.”

“Fresh management is where many retailers feel the pressure most clearly, because mistakes quickly translate into waste or empty shelves,” said Rui Saraiva, VP EMEA South at RELEX Solutions. “RELEX helps retailers plan and replenish fresh products with the precision and responsiveness required. We are pleased to support CONDIS in strengthening its fresh supply chain and delivering consistent quality across all its stores.”
