Gartner positions RELEX in the “Challengers” quadrant based on ability to execute and completeness of vision

RELEX Solutions, provider of unified retail planning solutions, today announced that Gartner, Inc. has named RELEX as a challenger in the Magic Quadrant for Retail Assortment Management Applications*. RELEX Solutions replaces Galleria, which RELEX acquired in June 2016 and which was recognized in the past two consecutive years in this Magic Quadrant.

The report notes that assortment management continues to be a top priority for retailers, saying, “The volume of inquiries from Gartner clients indicates that the market for retail assortment management applications (RAMAs) continues to be strong, with demand from Tier 1 and 2 retailers in all segments of North America, Western Europe and Asia/Pacific. This is in response to the need to improve inventory productivity by ensuring that the assorted products are stocked in the most appropriate locations to serve customers, whether their product will be selected in store, picked up in store or shipped from the store.”

“We believe our position as a challenger illustrates our company’s success in helping retailers improve their competitiveness through our unified retail planning technology, especially in the grocery and fresh foods space,” said Mikko Kärkkäinen, Group CEO, RELEX Solutions. “We feel that our customers recognize our ability to solve their toughest retail planning challenges, which is why we have such strong, enduring customer partnerships.”

Gartner defines “Challengers” as vendors that “have a high Ability to Execute, and provide a good-quality product for use in retail assortment planning. In some cases, they are slightly less innovative; however, with some effort, they could easily move into the Leaders Quadrant.”
