Dec 10, 2013 1 min

RELEX, the retail and manufacturing demand planning specialist, has taken a further step into the telecoms sector by acquiring Sellmore Company.

Founded by former Nokia executive Tommi Saarela, Sellmore offers advanced Business Intelligence & Management Solutions, particularly in the area of Sales and Operations Planning tailored to the telecoms sector’s needs. These solutions will be integrated into RELEX’s demand forecasting and supply chain optimisation system.

Sales and Operations Planning aims to create unified objectives and forecasts for sales, production, procurement, and the financial department, as part of an overarching strategy. It’s a key component in creating fully integrated planning throughout the supply chain.

Sellmore already counts some of Europe’s top telecoms and engineering companies amongst its clients, and RELEX already works with a number of mobile operators in the Nordics.

RELEX’s technology offers scale and power through its proprietary database technology and big data analysis capacity, while Sellmore’s expertise in telecoms manufacturing and distribution allows RELEX to strengthen its offering to the entire telecoms supply chain.

“RELEX is in an ideal position to bring Sellmore’s expertise to a wider market and give it additional muscle,” says RELEX Co-founder and MD Mikko Kärkkäinen.

“RELEX’s world class supply chain expertise and technology, coupled with Sellmore’s knowledge of electronics manufacturing, distribution and retail will allow us to offer anyone dealing with high value, short life cycle goods an even better set of solutions to all their supply chain challenges,” adds Jussi Laaksonen, Co-founder of Sellmore.
