Selver to Unify their Grocery Retail Operations with RELEX

Leading Estonian retailer to implement forecasting, replenishment, assortment, and promotions planning across 70+ stores

Selver, one of Estonia’s largest retail chains, has selected RELEX Solutions to transform its retail operations by implementing forecasting and replenishment, assortment planning, and promotion planning capabilities. Selver aims to eliminate fragmented processes, gain end-to-end visibility across its entire value chain, and reduce manual work.

Selver offers their customers in Estonia an extensive product range spanning food, consumer goods, and industrial goods across grocery, fresh foods, fashion, cosmetics, books, and kitchen items. They are particularly known for Selver Kitchen, which provides ready-made meals, salads, desserts, pastries, bakery products, and party foods. Managing approximately 1.5 million SKUs across its network of stores and two distribution centers, Selver operates in a complex retail environment with frequent promotions and diverse assortment needs.

They previously relied on a legacy in-house solution for forecasting and replenishment, while assortment and promotion planning were managed through spreadsheets, creating disconnected processes that limited visibility and efficiency. With RELEX, Selver will unify central planning and store execution on a single platform. By connecting forecasting, replenishment, assortment, and promotions planning together, they will foster better collaboration across replenishment and merchandising teams and more strategic decision-making. The AI-driven solution will optimize inventory management across all categories, with particular emphasis on fresh foods where precise timing and accurate data are essential.

“We chose RELEX because they offered a solution that supports our business goals,” said Kristi Simonsen, Member of the Board, Selver. “RELEX’s platform connects all our planning functions on shared data and will allow our teams to collaborate effectively to make better decisions that benefit the entire team. We see this trajectory as the path to support our future growth.”

By unifying central planning with store-level execution, Selver will reduce spoilage while improving product availability, addressing the unique challenges of perishable goods including short shelf lives, batch tracking, and dynamic pricing requirements. This unified approach ensures that assortment decisions, promotional campaigns, and inventory planning work together seamlessly, reducing stockouts, minimizing excess inventory, and improving profitability across the entire operation.

“We are excited to bring our grocery retail expertise to Selver, particularly in optimizing fresh categories,” said Jason Berry, SVP EMEA, RELEX Solutions. “By providing the complete suite of forecasting and replenishment, assortment, and promotion tools working together, Selver will drive measurable improvements across their entire operation while eliminating the silos that often hinder retail efficiency.”
