Tools & Workwear Supplier Swedol Chooses RELEX To Help Manage Rapid Growth

Swedol Plans to Increase Operational Efficiency by Automating and Optimizing its Supply Chain Planning

Swedol, a leading retailer of tools and supplies, workwear and personal protection equipment, has partnered with RELEX to integrate supply chain planning for its 100 stores and three distribution centers.

The company has grown quickly, partly through acquisition, and has stores across Sweden, Norway and Finland under the Swedol, Grolls and Univern brands. It needed a single system powerful enough to optimize and automate forecasting and replenishment for its large assortment, which includes more than 800,000 SKUs and brings in over €350M revenue each year.

Swedol’s strategic goal is to continue generating profitable growth, have efficient and quality assured processes and at the same time be a genuinely sustainable company. Currently, Swedol uses two separate systems that don’t fully work together. By bringing all supply chain data into a single system, Swedol will increase operational efficiency and minimize manual work, so its planning experts can focus on exceptions and value-adding tasks that make use of their professional skills.

“We came to a point where we needed to bring all of our processes together, and RELEX is the right partner to help us do this,” says Håkan Wanselius, Swedol’s COO. “We have ambitious growth targets and need a system that can not only support our current needs, but can also provide us with flexibility and a futureproof solution.”

“RELEX will automate our routine store and DC replenishment, and help us with allocation, exception management, planning for seasons and campaigns and assortment optimization,” Wanselius continues. “These are all areas where RELEX has a strong track record, and we will benefit by using our people’s skills to full effect in these areas.”

“The partnership is a great match, both from a technological and cultural perspective,” says RELEX Sales Manager Joakim Hellman. “Working with Swedol has been fun from day one, and together we are going to make sure that Swedol’s supply chain operations fully line up with their strategic goals.”

“We’ve forged a close working relationship with Swedol and can relate to their ambitious goals for growth. We are certain that we’re going to achieve great and measurable results together.”
