Al-Dawaa Pharmacies, one of the Middle East’s largest pharmacy retail chains and Proceed, a subsidiary of Al-Dawaa Medical Services Company (DMSCO), serving as its dedicated healthcare logistics and supply chain arm., has selected RELEX Solutions to improve forecasting and replenishment across its network of 1,000 pharmacies, dark stores, and 10 distribution centers (DCs). The retailer will use AI-driven retail planning from RELEX to strengthen product availability, reduce manual work, and support its promise of reliable access to essential healthcare products.

Founded in Saudi Arabia, Al-Dawaa operates a fast-growing omnichannel pharmacy network with more than 11,500 SKUs spanning prescription medicine, over-the-counter products, and health and wellness essentials. As the business scaled, Al-Dawaa outgrew its in-house system, which could not keep pace with growing complexity.
RELEX was selected for its ability to unify forecasting and replenishment on a single AI-driven platform that adapts to the specific demands of pharmacy retail, including high service expectations and frequent demand variability. By replacing static rules and manual updates with continuously updated forecasts and replenishment recommendations, Al-Dawaa can plan more dynamically across pharmacies, dark stores, and DCs, and reduce the effort required to maintain planning logic.
“Access to essential healthcare products depends on having the right items available at the right time, every day,” said Murhaf Alwan, IT Director at Al-Dawaa Pharmacies. “As our network grows, manual planning was holding us back. RELEX gives us AI-driven forecasting and replenishment that supports our teams, adapts as demand changes, and helps us deliver a more reliable experience for our customers across all channels.”
“At pharmacy scale, small planning inefficiencies quickly turn into availability risks,” said Rui Saraiva, Vice President South EMEA and Middle East at RELEX Solutions. “By moving to a unified, AI-driven planning approach, Al-Dawaa is building the capability to respond faster to change while supporting consistent execution across a large and complex network. We look forward to supporting them as they continue to grow and strengthen availability for their customers.”
