Creed Foodservice Chooses RELEX Solutions to Automate and Optimize Its Supply Chain

RELEX Solutions to support Creed Foodservice’s business growth with advanced forecasting and replenishment system

Creed Foodservice, one of the UK’s leading independently owned Foodservice Wholesalers, has enlisted RELEX Solutions, Europe’s fastest growing supply chain solution provider, to optimize inventory levels and automate its increasingly complex supply chain.

Creed Foodservice supplies a comprehensive product range across frozen, ambient, chilled, and non-food categories, including local fresh produce and meat, from its two distribution centres in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and Ilkeston, Derbyshire. Creed’s strategic plan is to offer a “one stop shop” to all types of caterers and operators across the care, education, leisure destinations, and hospitality sectors. As the wholesaler grows and continues to develop the range of multi temperature products, categories and services it offers caterers, the need for advanced forecasting and automated replenishment has become essential.

As a result of its product base expansion, Creed Foodservice needed to automate complex ordering and supplier rules. In addition, to pick up on seasonal trends and optimize inventory, it needed the ability to forecast further in advance but still based on short sales history. RELEX will complement and integrate with BCP Accord, a wholesale software solution, in delivering better support with load building, co-ordinated ordering and promotions management.

Tony Youd, Inventory and Supply Chain Controller at Creed Foodservice comments: “After conversations with three other technology vendors, we chose RELEX because of its expertise within the food service sector, as well as its willingness to work closely with us to understand our unique business requirements.”

“Its implementation model means there is no need for upfront investments in hardware or licenses making it a low risk process with quick return on investment. Furthermore, RELEX’s reputation and the number of positive references reinforced our decision.”

Mikko Kärkkäinen, Group CEO, RELEX Solutions comments: “As an organisation, Creed Foodservice differentiates itself from competitors with its flexibility, pace and agility, as well as its commitment to offering a service level that is amongst the very best in the industry. To fulfil these elements of its customer proposition, the wholesaler requires a robust supply chain solution that can increase visibility and improve efficiency. We’re excited to work with Creed Foodservice moving forward as the business further expands and its supply chain requirements evolve.”

The project is due to start in May with a three month implementation time frame.
