Europris Achieves Significant Forecast Accuracy Improvements with RELEX

Europris, Norway’s leading variety discounter, has achieved significant forecasting improvements after implementing AI-driven forecasting capabilities from RELEX Solutions. Following the migration to machine learning (ML)-based forecasting, Europris has improved forecast accuracy and shifted planner focus from manual data entry to strategic decision-making.

With more than €900 million in annual sales and stores across Norway, Europris needed to improve forecast accuracy while reducing the time planners spent creating and maintaining manual campaign forecasts. The manual processes limited the team’s ability to respond quickly to market changes and prevented planners from focusing on strategic initiatives.
By implementing RELEX across its full product assortment, Europris introduced automated forecasting. RELEX forecasting capabilities automatically account for promotions, price changes, and seasonal patterns, helping Europris forecast demand more accurately while maintaining optimal stock levels and reducing campaign overstock.
The results include:
- 10 hours saved each week maintaining promotion forecasts
- +30 percentage points improvement in promotion forecast bias % vs. manual forecasts
- +11 percentage points improvement in forecast bias %
- +4.5 percentage points improvement in 1-SWAPE product-location week level
