Norwegian retailer strengthens forecasting and operational efficiency by unifying supply chain planning across its growing retail network with real-time insights from RELEX Diagnostics

Europris, Norway’s leading variety discounter, has expanded their collaboration with RELEX Solutions, a provider of unified supply chain and retail planning solutions, to integrate the supply chain planning of their newly acquired Swedish retailer, Runsvengruppen. As part of this expansion, Europris will streamline their shelving processes to improve efficiency, and leverage advanced analytics for deeper operational insights. They will also implement RELEX Diagnostics for improved visibility into inventory and incorporate weather-driven data to refine their forecasting accuracy.

Europris has relied on RELEX since 2014, utilizing AI-driven tools to improve forecasting, replenishment, seasonal planning, and promotions. In 2022, they expanded their capabilities to optimize capacity, achieving notable gains in operational efficiency. Most recently, Europris optimized its deliveries to stores, reducing the frequency by 46% for the same products going to the same location, eliminating unnecessary repeat deliveries. Now, by extending these advanced planning capabilities to their Swedish business, Europris aims to unify processes across their expanding retail network, while strengthening their commercial performance through data-driven category insights that identify new opportunities and drive increased sales.

“Europris has seen tremendous value from RELEX over the years. As we grow, we want to ensure that all areas of our business operate at the highest level of efficiency,” said Marco Pair, Supply Chain Manager, Europris. “By expanding our use of RELEX solutions, we aim to improve replenishment accuracy, optimize warehouse picking processes, and reduce delivery complexity. We have already seen significant time savings across our operations, and this expansion will help us build on that success to create a more streamlined, data-driven supply chain.”

By leveraging RELEX Diagnostics, Europris will gain detailed insights into both availability challenges and inventory balances, pinpointing the specific drivers behind stock-outs. This will empower the planning team to make more precise and real-time decision making, improving overall supply chain performance. Additionally, incorporating weather-driven data will help them anticipate seasonal demand shifts, a crucial advantage in Nordic markets where conditions differ significantly across regions.

“Europris has been an outstanding RELEX customer for over a decade, and we are honored to support them in this next phase of growth,” said Tiina Kanninen, Senior Vice President of Customer Success. “This expansion strengthens an already highly successful collaboration, and we are excited to see how RELEX’s advanced capabilities in shelving optimization, operational analytics and weather forecasting will continue to drive tangible benefits for their business.”

Implementation support will be provided by PwC, ensuring a seamless transition while leveraging deep supply chain expertise. By expanding their use of RELEX, Europris is reinforcing their commitment to data-driven, AI-powered supply chain excellence, ensuring a seamless customer experience across both Norway and Sweden.
