The Italian cooperative company Realco will partner with RELEX Solutions, provider of unified retail planning solutions, for demand forecasting and DC replenishment. Realco operates three distribution centers in Northern and Central Italy, serving approximately 180 independent points of sale, including Sigma supermarkets as well as discounters Economy and ECU, for a total sales volume close to €600 million a year.
Realco aims to reduce stock levels and food waste while improving the availability and service offered to its affiliates. After a thorough search, the company chose RELEX for their track record in food retail optimization and the configurability of their forecasting and replenishment solution. Highly positive results of from a preliminary cost-benefit analysis, which provided detailed information on the advantages of adopting the RELEX solution, was another key factor in their decision.
