Leading Nordic wine and spirits brand house improves its forecasting accuracy with channel-level demand planning

Anora, the leading Nordic wine and spirits brand house, has improved forecast accuracy across its beverage business with the support of channel forecasting capabilities from RELEX Solutions. By moving from aggregate-level demand planning to channel-level granularity, Anora gained clearer visibility into where demand performance can be improved.

Anora manages a portfolio of well-known Nordic brands, including Koskenkorva, Linie Aquavit, Blossa, and O.P. Anderson, and international partner brands, operating across five distribution centers with an extensive number of individual products. In Finland, Anora’s business serves multiple retail channels as well as the monopoly channel. This channel mix was broadened with the regulatory shift in Finland allowing alcohol products with up to 8% ABV to be sold in grocery stores. This shift meant aggregate forecasting could no longer capture the distinct demand behavior of each route to market.

Anora deployed channel forecasting capabilities from RELEX in June 2025, which enables planning at the individual channel level, capturing demand signals from retail partners. RELEX enables Anora’s demand planners to incorporate customer-provided forecasts as an informative input, improving the baseline from which planning decisions are made.

Anora has experienced significant improvements including:

“Channel-level forecasting has improved visibility across our business and made it easier to identify and act on problem areas,” said Lena Christensson-Jones, Head of Demand Planning, Anora. “Having the customer forecast available as an informative baseline has also strengthened our planning process. Since forecast accuracy and bias have improved, we expect to see positive effects on stock value, stock costs, and order batches.”

“Anora’s results demonstrate the value of planning at the right level of granularity,” said Tiina Kanninen, SVP, Global Customer Success, RELEX Solutions. “By separating demand signals by channel, their planning team gained both accuracy and actionability which is the kind of improvement that creates a strong foundation for the next phase of supply chain optimization.”
