Swedish pharmaceutical wholesaler achieves steady product availability and planning efficiency

Medovia, a Swedish supplier of medicines and consumables to healthcare providers, have seen measurable successes using RELEX Solutions for forecasting and replenishment. Over the last 12 months, product availability increased by 1.3pp, and the large majority of RELEX order proposals are used without adjustments. This is a sign of sustained trust in the system as Medovia’s operations evolved.

Medovia has used RELEX for forecasting and replenishment since 2017. As a wholesale distributor, Medovia has to forecast demand by the ordering patterns of different business customers, each with their own contract terms and service expectations. They treat each of their business customers as a distinct location for planning purposes. With RELEX, Medovia can generate order proposals for each of their customers to support consistent and automated planning.

Comparing the period of June 2024 to May 2025 with June 2025 to May 2026, there has been:

“We rely on RELEX to keep our replenishment running steadily, even when things shift around us,” said Jakob Grönwall, Head of Purchasing and Assortment, Medovia. “Being able to trust the order proposals and focus our attention on exceptions, rather than reviewing every line, is what lets a lean team keep pace with our customers’ service requirements.”

“Medovia has used RELEX for nearly a decade, and what stands out is how consistently the system has performed through real organizational change,” said Tiina Kanninen, SVP, Global Customer Success, RELEX Solutions. “As a wholesaler, Medovia has to plan around dozens of distinct business customers rather than a single store network, and the platform has kept that complexity manageable while supporting the efficiency the business is focused on today.”
