Specialty retailer renews collaboration with RELEX to support AI-driven planning and continued growth

World Market, a specialty retailer known for its curated assortment of gourmet international foods and exclusive home furnishings has renewed and expanded its footprint with RELEX Solutions. The multi-year agreement builds on a relationship established in 2021 and includes machine learning–based forecasting, as well as replenishment and space planning capabilities.

Founded in 1958, World Market has grown from a small import business in San Francisco into a nationwide retailer with nearly 250 stores across the United States. The Company offers a distinctive mix of international gourmet foods, décor, furniture, and gifts requiring nuanced forecasting and space allocation across a broad and constantly evolving assortment.

Since first implementing RELEX forecasting, replenishment, and space planning capabilities, World Market has strengthened its planning processes and moved away from legacy systems and manual workflows. The RELEX platform supports more consistent and accurate, data-informed forecasting and replenishment across stores and e-Commerce fulfillment channels, helping teams respond more effectively to changing customer demand and better align decisions across operations and merchandising teams.

“We’re pleased to continue our partnership with RELEX as we build on the progress we’ve made over the past several years,” said Eric Hunter, CEO at World Market. “As we continue to evolve our planning capabilities, we’re focused on improving how we manage our assortment and support our stores with more accurate, data-driven decisions.”

“World Market has been a strong partner, and this renewal reflects the strength of our long-term collaboration,” said Keith Adams, SVP, RELEX Solutions. “We look forward to supporting their continued evolution with advanced capabilities across forecasting and replenishment, while helping bring greater alignment across planning processes.”
