Naturalia to Improve Fresh Operations and Reduce Shrinkage With RELEX

Naturalia, a leading French organic and natural food retail chain and part of the Monoprix group, has selected RELEX Solutions to improve fresh operations across its store network. RELEX will support Naturalia in reducing shrink, improving margins, and ensuring consistent product availability.

Naturalia operates 210 stores across France, supported by two distribution centers. As a retailer focused on fresh organic products, Naturalia works to balance freshness and product availability with waste reduction. Fresh categories are complex to manage due to short shelf lives and fluctuating demand, and Naturalia was looking for a better system to improve fresh profit margins across the full range of perishable products.
To achieve this goal, Naturalia selected RELEX to bring more accurate store-level ordering and better alignment between demand and supply. As a result, Naturalia will make more precise daily ordering decisions, reduce excess stock, and improve freshness for customers. During initial testing in fruit and vegetable categories, Naturalia observed approximately a 10% reduction in shrink.
“Improving how we manage fresh categories is a priority for Naturalia, both from a customer experience and a sustainability perspective,” said Julien Tanter, Directeur du réseau Naturalia France. “With RELEX, we expect to strengthen our fresh operations, reduce waste across our full product range, and better support our store teams with clear, data-driven guidance.”
“We are proud to support Naturalia as they continue to develop their fresh operations,” said Jason Berry, Senior Vice President, EMEA at RELEX Solutions. “Their focus on quality, sustainability, and store execution makes them a strong fit for RELEX. We look forward to working closely together to deliver measurable improvements in availability and waste reduction.”
Rollout will begin in June, starting with fruit and vegetable categories.
